Austin’s own, Yeti prides itself in making “the best premium coolers and accessories that are the ultimate in design, performace and durability.” Chances are you have a Yeti or know someone who has a Yeti or two (right here). It’s no secret that, there are plenty of replicates of Yeti’s merchandise but beating the original is almost impossble. And even though Yeti is a successful company, to not partake in one of the biggest conferences/festivals like SXSW is a mistake which is why Yeti in partnership with BMI and Wrangler will be hosting a four day showcase of musicians, local food, and drinks on Wednesday March 13th through Saturday March 16th at their flagshop store on Congress Avenue.
Some of the artists that are scheduled to perfrom are Rebublican Hair, Super Doppler, Sarah Shook & the Disarmers and CAPYAC. Rebulican Hair from Nashville are a new wave punk band that make &songs to apocalypse to. Lose ya mind.& If you get a chance, take a listen to “Miss Prince,” where Rebulican hair pays tribute to Prince while he’s singing to an unnamed person that he misses them but he doesn’t miss them like Prince. Virginia’s own Super Doppler is a psychedelic rock band that makes “music from Virginia.” Their latest album Super Secret Singles Club makes me feel as if I’m in a motor home traveling across the country sometime in the 70’s which is odd because I’m too young to be alive to know that feeling but it takes me there. For anyone who’s enjoying Texas for the first time, you can’t enjoy a good country band and Sarah Shook & the Disarmers are the perfect group. Even though Sarah Shook may be from North Carolina and not Texas per se, her voice makes you feel like you’re defintely in Texas, and if you need proof listen the band’s latest single, “The Way She Looked at You.” Austin-based duo CAPYAC will hit the stage with their dance/electronic sound. Some tracks are electronic based for example their latest single, “Someone Real” or if you’re looking for something you can groove to give a listen to “Speedracer.”
Yeti will definitely have a variety of music to have everyone entertained. While you’re there don’t forget to check out their flagship store and get a new Yeti.
