Mija Shares New Song “Stay A Little Longer” Featuring JR Slayer

Amber Giles, known by her stage name Mija, has shared a new song with JR Slayer titled “Stay A Little Longer.” The track was both written and produced by JR Slayer, who was the former guitarist for The Blood Brothers and is currently in the group Head Wound City. Last month, JR Slayer, whose real name is Cody Votolato, released a solo album titled You Found Me.

The track is hypnotizing and haunting, with Giles showing off her genre-bending sound in this dark single. It opens with a hypnotizingly gentle melody, but slowly progresses into heavier boundaries as layers of beats, glitchy effects, and distortions get added into the mix. This combination is topped off by Mija’s absorbing vocals and lyrics. Speaking on the release, Mija states that it “illustrates three human characteristics: Selfishness, Validity, and Loneliness”. Check out Mija and JR Slayer’s latest track.

Based in Los Angeles, the 26-year-old Giles is a singer, producer, and DJ, responsible for singles like “Dead Flowers & Cigarettes” and “I Hope to Cure Myself of You.” She has also worked with rapper Lil’ Jon on the track, “Crank It.” Last month, Mija shared a 24-minute long ambient edit of her track, “Notice Me,” which she titled “The Space In Between pt 1.” She is currently in the midst of her U.S. tour, “Band Practice.”
