LOCKN’ will take place from Aug. 22-25 in Arrington, Virginia at Infinity Downs & Oak Ridge Farms. The festival’s 387-acre property is located at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Three-day and four-day passes are available.
The 2019 lineup includes dozens of talented musicians including, Trey Anastasio Band and Tedeschi Trucks Band, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Gary Clark Jr., The Revivalists, Old Crow Medicine Show, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Vulfpeck, St. Paul and the Broken Bones and Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The final evening of the festival (Aug. 25) will see headliner Bob Weir and Wolf Bros perform with special guest Susan Tedeschi. The festival has been known to have amazing music collaborations.
Gary Clark Jr. the Austin native and blues musician will perform at the MET on March 29 and KCRW event on September 29. He will be releasing a new album in 2019. Artist, Trey Anastasio was on tour with Phish this past summer and has been ranked 73rd in Rolling Stones “greatest guitarist of all time.” He co-founded the band Phish in 1983. Old Crow Medicine released an album, Volunteer with songs “Flicker & Shine,” “Shout Mountain Music” and released a song titled, “Whirlwind” in 2018.
LOCKN’ festival co-founder and executive producer Peter Shapiro states, “With LOCKN’, we try and keep things fresh while also keeping them kind of the same. We are also excited to bring in some great bands that will be playing for the first time. And we have some cool collaborations that should reinvent the music while still keeping the soul of it, which, when it works, is magic and why we do the event.”
LOCKN’ Festival started in 2013 by a group of dedicated music fans aspiring to provide the ultimate atmosphere for live music and community to flourish. Previous artists who played the festival include: Tom Petty, Robert Plant, Phish, Carlos Santana, My Morning Jacket, Ween, Wilco, Zac Brown, Willie Nelson, Phil Lesh and more.
The founders believe the festival should be a blend of world-class music, local vendors, and community engagement. They add, “Our goal is not only to offer fans mind-blowing lineups but also to present the best in local and regional cuisine, craft beers and wines, and opportunities to explore our picturesque setting. We take pride in our local organizations and community leaders. We’re eager to support all the good folks who have supported us over the years.”
