Father John Misty and Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit Announce Summer 2019 Co-Headlining Tour Dates

Father John Misty and Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit have announced a co-headlining tour for summer 2019. The tour is slated to kick off June 6th in San Diego, CA and will continue on to Berkely, Minneapolis, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, and Irving, Texas, wrapping up June 29th in Tulsa, OK. Tickets for the tour will go on sale Friday, February 15th at 10 am local time and can be purchased here. Jade Bird and Erin Rae will be joining the tour on select dates. See the full itinerary below.

The tour is in support of Misty’s, real name Josh Tilman’s latest release God’s Favorite Customer, one of mxdwn’s “High Fidelity” albums of 2018, calling it “pure and intimate heartache,” in a good way. It received universal acclaim from many including Pitchfork, AllMusic, and Rolling Stone, who compared his work to John Lennon’s. “What lifts God’s Favorite Customer beyond homage is Tillman’s slicing, free-associative candor as he examines the cost in sanity and constancy of his craft and touring life.”

Isbell and the 400 unit’s last release was their 2017 album, The Nashville Sound, which received the Grammy for Best Americana and Best American Roots Song for “If We Were Vampires” and widespread critical acclaim. The Los Angeles Times stated the album is “another impressively literate collection stoked with the kind of insightful songs that have made him one of the bright lights of roots music over the last decade.”
