Foals Announce Spring 2019 Tour Dates with Preoccupations, Omni and More

Foals have a busy year ahead of themselves, as they prepare to launch a brand new world tour in addition to the two albums they plan on releasing this year. The tour, which will begin in Mexico City, and end in Lustenau, Austria, will feature support from Bear Hands, Preoccupations, Omni and Kiev.

After selling out numerous shows in cities such as New York City, Washington D.C. and San Diego, California,  the band has added extra dates. This includes an added third NYC show at Brooklyn Steel on April 12, and a second Washington D.C. show at 9:30 Club on April 18. They will also perform at Mexico’s Vive Latino 2019 and Atlanta’s Shaky Knees Festival.

These concert dates are set to promote the band’s upcoming pair of albums Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1, which will be released on March 8. The album’s part 2 is currently set to be released this fall, and will share themes with the first album release.

Canadian post-punk band the Preoccupations have only been releasing music since 2012, but have garnered a following for a trio of releases on Jagjaguwar which include Viet Cong, their self-titled album and New Material, which was released last year.

Last fall they teamed up with Protomartyr to release split 7″ vinyl single, where they covered the track “Pontiac ’87” by Protomartyr. The band also made an appearance at the Desert Daze Festival in California, where they closed the night out alongside the likes of Death Grips and My Bloody Valentine.

Omni has been further under the radar than the other two bands, having released an album entitled Deluxe in 2016. This project is fronted by Bradford Cox after the dissolution of his band the Balkans. As opposed to the punk soujnd of Balkans, this project took a more indie garage rock feel.
