Arkansas Senator Calls For Venue Boycott After Eyehategod Uses “Wicked and Evil” Promotional Poster Featuring Him Eating a Baby

Arkansas Senator Jason Rapert has called for a boycott of Vino’s, a brewpub located in Little Rock, Arkansas. His request comes as a response to an Eyehategod show at the venue scheduled for May 24. As a promotional stunt for the show, the band used Rapert’s face in their graphic poster, depicting him with fangs, and a baby in his bloody mouth. Rapert is a Republican in a Southern state, and has been openly against abortion and gay rights.

BrooklynVegan reported about the conflict, and their story includes the statement released by Rapert on his Facebook, which reads:

Friends, I rarely share with you the hateful posts and pictures that extreme liberals make about me to torment my stand for better moral values. But this time I want you to see what they have done. They use my image on an event without my permission and they depict me “biting a baby” in my mouth. A wicked and evil depiction on an event entitled “Eyehategod”. I call on Vino’s in Little Rock to cancel this event and apologize for such a disrespectful image that shows the dehumanization of babies lives. It is disrespectful of all who value babies lives and people of faith. They also clearly welcome the Satanic Temple in another post I am sharing. I urge you NOT to frequent Vinos and stand against their hateful rhetoric.

Promoters of the Eyehategod event have since edited the flyer and have replaced Rapert’s face with that of Gene Simmons. However, the original versions are still available and, as promised by promoters, will be available at the May 24 show.
