Eyehategod has announced dates for their 2019 tour, which also includes sets by The Obsessed and Antiseen. Their tour is already underway and began in Shreveport, Louisiana on January 17. The renowned sludge metal band hailing from New Orleans will be in full attendance, with frontman Mike IX returning to the stage after recovering from a liver transplant.
BrooklynVegan reports that the band will begin their tour alone in major cities in Texas and California such as Denton, Austin, Oakland, and Los Angeles, before heading overseas to play in Tijuana, Mexico and Osaka and Tokyo in Japan in March. Their tour in the United States will recommence on March 29 at the Warehouse Live in Houston, Texas, where they will start to play alongside doom and heavy metal legends, The Obsessed, during their shows. Finally, the last ten shows of Eyehategod’s tour will also see the addition of North Carolina’s punk rock veterans Antiseen to the lineup.
Eyehategod and The Obsessesed share a powerful partnership in the metal scene, having already toured and co-headlined shows together in September last year. In April 2017, The Obsessed released their first studio album in 23 years titled Sacred, which includes a refined version of their iconic track, “Sodden Jackal“.
UPDATE (2/28): Eyehategod has announced the second leg of their 4 Strikes… From The Elementary To The Penitentiary Tour. This go-round the band will be joined by Negative Approach, Sheer Terror and others.
