Aly Spaltro, the American singer-songwriter also known as her stage name, Lady Lamb has recently announced her third studio album entitled Even in the Tremor is set to come out April of this year. The album is the follow up to Spaltro’s 2015 release After and will be available April 5th via Ba Da Bing Records.
Fans got a glimpse inside the new record with the title track, released today. The video for the track is directed by Erica Peplin was filmed outside Mexico City. Watch the video below.
Even in the Tremor is an album close to Spaltro’s heart; an intimate, personal and honest look inside the singer’s heart and soul. For the first time, she is peeling a piece of herself free for the world to see, singing about herself “The whole idea of this new album is the push and pull between calmness and chaos, joy and anxiety, self-loathing and self-love,” says Spaltro.
Spaltro expressed her feelings in regards to how personal the new album is saying, “It’s taken me years to get here but I’m done with hiding myself. I want to be as honest as I can because that’s why people turn to art. Anybody can tell the difference between bullsh*t and real vulnerability.”
With the record, Spaltro created the album with the help of bassist/pianist Benjamin Lazar Davis as well as drummer Jeremy Gustin drummer Jeremy Gustin. The three recorded in a Brooklyn studio. The first attempt at the record found Spaltro being told her “her arrangements needed rewriting” by various people in the industry. So she switched gears and did something different. She went with an outsider, a less established named Erin Tonkon (Tony Visconti, David Bowie’s Blackstar) and the two instantly bonded.
