Chris Brown has filed a defamation lawsuit against a woman who accused him of sexual assault last week, according to reports from Pitchfork. Brown’s lawyer Raphael Chiche has been reported to pursue action against the accuser for her “slanderous accusation.”
On Monday, January 21 Brown and two other men were arrested in Paris after a 24-year old woman accused the singer, his friend and bodyguard of raping her at the Mandarin Oriental luxury hotel earlier in the month. Brown and his friends were released after posting a $2,000 bail and pleading not guilty, according to some sources.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Brown commented on the situations, writing in all caps, “THIS B!TCH LYIN.” He then continued to write, “I wanna make it perfectly clear ….. This is false and a whole lot of CAP!,” he wrote in all caps via the Instagram post.”… For my daughter and my family this is so disrespectful and is against my character and morals!!!!”
This has not been the first time since Brown has been accused of assault or faced any jail time regarding similar situations. Back in 2009, Brown had spent a five-year journey on probation and community service after being charged with physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in her car. And even in 2017, Brown found himself in another case of assault after allegedly punching a man for taking an unauthorized photo of him in Florida.
Certainly, Brown is facing far more criminal accusations this time around. The maximum prison sentence for a case like this is one year if found guilty under the statute.
More details are to come as this is a developing case.
