The Cinematic Orchestra Announces First New Album in 12 Years To Believe for March 2019 Release

British nu jazz and electronic music group, The Cinematic Orchestra is returning with an announcement of their first full-length album in 12 years called To Believe. The new record is the band’s first since their 2007 release, Ma Fleur, and according to a press release, will “explore a timeless question of vital importance in 2019 – what to believe?” To Believe will be available to purchase and stream when it is released on March 15 via Domino/Ninja Tune.

The Cinematic Orchestra’s founding member Jason Swinscoe and longtime partner Dominic Smith have brought along a team of collaborators to work on the album including Moses Sumney, Roots Manuva, Heidi Vogel, Grey Reverend (vocalist on Bonobo’s ‘First Fires’), Dorian Concept and Tawiah (Mark Ronson, Kindness) just to name a few. The record is mixed by Tom Elmhirst, a multiple Grammy Award Winner who also worked with David Bowie, Frank Ocean, and Adele and was mixed in Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Lady Studios.

Today, not only saw the announcement for the upcoming new record but saw their single “A Caged Bird/Imitations of Life” which features vocals by Roots Manuva, is widely available on all digital streaming sites. The song was originally released early January but was only available on 12-inch vinyl via independent retailers. Now, fans can access the song anywhere they choose. Listen to the track here.

The band will soon kick off a tour to support the release which will begin in March. The tour will see the band performing a three-night stay at London’s iconic Roundhouse.
