mxdwn PREMIERE: Patrick Damphier Is Joined By The Late Richard Swift on “Throw The Rest Away (Hold On)”

Patrick Damphier is a singer-songwriter from Nashville, TN and he’s just a few weeks away from releasing his new album Say I’m Pretty on February 1, 2019. As part of the build-up to the new album, we’re excited to premiere the latest song from the album, “Throw The Rest Away (Hold On).” Making the track all the more noteworthy is the fact that the late and great producer/musician Richard Swift performs guitars on the track.

The song starts with a ripping, clean guitar riff that rivals Real Estates’ “Darling” from last year. With an uptempo rhythm section and dreamy effects complement the singer’s emotive vocals well. Check out the gorgeous new song below:

Damphier may not be a household name yet, but he’s spent time touring in well known bands. He’s toured as a member of The Mynabirds, Paper Rival, Lionlimb and others. His time in the indie world reveals itself through the many collaborators he lined up for Say I’m Pretty. Swift also contributes keyboards to the song “Under My Door,” while Nicole Atkins lends vocals to two of the tracks. Other performers appearing on the album include Jessica Lea Mayfield, who did vocals on three of the songs. The album’s interior artwork was also done by Swift.
