Nicholas Sparks’ The Notebook and its accompanying film with Rachel Mcadams and Ryan Gosling along with its cult following, continues to live on until the end of time. One of the followers happens to be the great Ingrid Michaelson. Michaelson has recently suggested turning the romantic novel/ film into a Broadway musical. As reported by Consequence of Sound, Broadway News originally reported that Michaelson is, in fact, working on music and lyrics for the Broadway adaptation.“The story sings to me so perfectly,” Michaelson stated in the press release. “I actually started writing that very night of the first meeting, before I even had the job! I cannot wait for the world to hear these characters come to life in a musical way.”
The script is being written by Bekah Brunsetter, who serves as the supervising producer of the popular TV-show This Is Us. The show will also be produced by Kevin McCollum and Kurt Deutsch, who is associated with Sparks. McCollum and Deutsch released a joint statement regarding the collaboration with Michaelson and Brunsetter. “From day one, Ingrid and Bekah have had a clear vision for the show, and even at this early stage, it has proven to be an exceptionally exciting and fruitful collaboration.”
Michaelson is also a fan of “Stranger Things.” Around this time last year, she announced that she was going to make an album that is inspired by the hit Netflix Original and even naming the album Stanger Songs.
