Queen seems to be on everyone’s mind lately, what with the massive biopic on Freddie Mercury Bohemian Rhapsody being released in late 2018. The band appears to be on Southern California punk band The Regrettes’ mind as well and today they’ve shared a cover of the classic Queen track “Don’t Stop Me Now.”
It’s a fairly faithful recreation of Queen’s 1978 single, though it definitely increases the beats per minute by a significant margin. The song came from Queens album Jazz, their seventh studio album which spawned other hits like the unforgettable “Bicycle Race / Fat Bottomed Girls.” “Don’t Stop Me Now” was a top 10 single in the UK and remains one of the band’s most beloved and best-known tracks.
Lydia Night and company have stayed busy after releasing their debut album Feel You Feelings Fool. Last February they released a follow up in the form of an EP called Attention Seeker, participated in “HamilDrop” with their song “Helpless,” released yet another single called “California Friends” and gave their take on the Kavanaugh debacle with “Poor Boy.”
