Summerfest Announces 2019 Lineup Featuring Ozzy Osbourne, Bon Iver and Julien Baker

One of the world’s largest music festivals, Summerfest, has begun to announce the headliners and lineup for their summer event. This year, Jason Aldean and special guest Kane Brown will headline the show on June 28th, Bon Iver with special guests Lord Huron and Julien Baker will conquer the stage on June 29th, while Ozzy Osbourne and his special guest MEGADETH will lead to the stage on July 4th.

This year, singer-songwriter and guitarist Julien Baker had taken some time away from producing solo work and invested in releasing an EP entitled boygenius with a supergroup of the same name. The group is led by all women known for their influence on the indie music scene, consisting of Baker, Phoebe Bridges, and Lucy Dacus. This 21-minute, six-song EP was recorded over the course of four days and perfectly blends all their sounds together to sound cohesive. It’s only a matter of time to see what material Baker will bring to the stage in the summer.

Indie-folk band Lord Huron released their third studio album Vide Noir, a twelve-track album that introduces tracks like “Ancient Names (Part I),” “Ancient Names (Part II)” and “Wait by the River.” The band consisting of Ben Schneider (singer-songwriter), Mark Barry (percussion), Miguel Briseno (bass) and Tom Renaud (guitar) spent a total of two years of creating, recording, and mixing this record in Los Angeles. It’s no doubt the band will be performing songs from this album on stage this summer, especially after all the hard work they put into crafting each song.

This annual music festival is held at the Henry Maier Festival Park along the lakefront of Milwaukee, Wisconsin with more and 800 acts, over 1,000 performances, and 12 full-sized stages around the park. This upcoming summer, the festival will be hosted on June 26th to the 30th and July 2nd to the 7th, amounting to a total of 11 days to crame all these performances.

Tickets have already gone on sale and can be purchased on their website at https://summerfest.com. The full headliner and lineup announcement will be available around spring of this year.

Michael Izquierdo: I'm a third-year student at The New School studying Journalism & Design in order to tell stories that are often misrepresented or unreported on. I want to take my writing and report on stories within the LGBTQ+ and Latinx community. In terms of music, play me a smooth jazz tune, an upbeat pop song, or an unheard indie artist and I'm sure I'll become infatuated by the music. I am always here to share someone else's story, to uplift a voice in any community.
