My Morning Jacket Announces Only Planned Shows for the Year with Three Summer 2019 Tour Dates

The soulful and talented band, My Morning Jacket recently announced 2019 tour dates with shows in Colorado and New York. The two shows at Red Rock Amphitheater will take place on August 2-3, 2019 in Denver, Colorado. Tickets are available for all shows, including the performance in Queens, New York on August 10, 2019.

The band was formed by singer-songwriter Jim James in Louisville, Kentucky back in 1998. Last June, they released an album, Uniform Distortion with James commenting on the track “Just a Fool” saying, “Everyone has been called a fool at some point in their lives, sometimes well deserved and other times not at all. I suppose this song is a sarcastic “fuck off” to anyone who ever degrades or makes another person feel a fool when they did not deserve it or just needed help, while at the same time it is an acceptance of the times I have been a fool.”

James 2018 solo tour took place early November at the Cathedral Sanctuary in Los Angeles, California and other historic theaters and centers across North America while wrapping up in Louisville, Kentucky on November 21st. For his most recent tour, James commented, “I am looking forward to exploring all sorts of songs stripped down as they first occurred in their natural habitat — just voice and guitar. Although I have played many shows by myself, this will be my first tour of this style, and I am excited to see everyone out on the open road.”

The band consists of James on vocals, lead and rhythm guitars, Tom Blankenship on bass, Patrick Hallahan on drums and percussion, Bo Koster, keyboards, percussion and backing vocals and Carl Broemel, guitar, saxophone and backing vocals.

The band’s album, The Waterfall was recorded at a hilltop mansion in the coastal town of Stinson Beach, California and the band felt the surroundings were “slightly supernatural, which produced an idyllic recording process. The Waterfall was released in May 2015, debuting number 11 on the Billboard 200 in the U.S., with 33,000 copies sold in its first week. In December 2015, The Waterfall was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album.

Kelly Tucker: Originally from Los Angeles, I grew up listening to all types of music. My first concert was Aerosmith with Skid Row, then moved on to concerts with Metallica, Lollapalooza, Guns N’ Roses, Soundgarden and more. One of my favorite shows of all time was when I was in college and someone took me to see the Allman Brothers play. I also scalped a ticket to see Pearl Jam and the amazing Eddie Vedder sing his heart out. My professional career started in 2000 at Nielsen Business Media where I was an assistant in a sales department and later got promoted to advertising account executive. When the recession hit in 2008 and the magazine was sold, I took a job at a call center and later got promoted to assistant to the CEO and COO of a global company. In 2017, I took a position at a pharmaceutical agency, and now currently responsible for coordinating meeting logistics for physicians and pharma reps throughout the United States. In my spare time, I work at Peace4Kids a non-profit in South Los Angeles and write screenplays in hopes to make a breakthrough.
