Kid Koala and Trixie Whitley Explore the Cosmos in New Video for “All For You”

Pioneering scratch DJ Kid Koala (aka Eric San) has released new video All For You featuring vocalist Trixie Whitley. The single is shared in advance of the new double LP Music To Draw To Io, which is due for release on January 25, 2019, and available for pre-order. It’s the second instalment of San’s transportive music collection which features Whitley on six of the eighteen tracks from the seventy-minute album.

San describes the series as “an unfolding universe of wintry soundscapes and enchanting vocal journeys” Written and performed entirely on an array of synthesizers, including many rare instruments at Calgary’s National Music Centre.

The latest music video release All For You ahead of his much anticipated forthcoming album is nothing short of a Celestial masterpiece both musically and visually. The video shows amber coloured particles slowly rising from what looks like a planet’s surface whilst Whitley gently captures the listener’s attention with the opening lyrics
“You’re here and I believe, you’ve rearranged the chemistry”
The genius behind it was video director and chemical puppeteer: Karina Bleau who captured macro shots of chemical reactions which gave the illusion of being in the vast outer space.

2018 also saw San release an album this year as part of the Floor Kids game original soundtrack, a newly released game on platforms such as Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. The project had been a collaboration between animator and break-dancer Jonathan NG and San himself. The soundtrack was an exploration of early B-boy anthems through the electro era and ’90s. San went to great lengths to create authenticity, including not quantizing the music in time fully, pressing each song to vinyl and having the menu select sounds in the key of the backing track to allow the player to feel like they’re making music.

San is now taking the OST on tour just like a traditional record. He will tour 18 cities across Canada and the US and each concert will feature demo kiosks for the game so attendees can play.
