Finland’s very own Flow Music Festival has announced its first run of artists that will perform at the end of Summer of 2019. The first set of acts include Robyn, Father John Misty, The Cure, and Tame Impala just to name a few. Other musicians set to attend next year’s festival include Patti Smith, Lauryn Hill, Bonobo, Kendrick Lamar, St. Vincent, Arctic Monkeys, and Charlotte Gainsbourg.
The three day weekend event has become a favorite since starting as club event back in 2004. According to the website, Flow Festival is dedicated to “bringing music from old school legends to topical newcomers. Beyond the music, Flow offers a warm embrace of the arts and an exceptional array of world spanning cuisine.” The backdrop of the festival is an old power station that was built at the turn of the century and will have 11 stages that will bring musical acts from around the globe with one purpose, to entertain and enlighten ticket holders. Some of the stages are outdoors but also include some intimate indoor venues which includes the Main Stage that, according to the site, can engage an audience of 25 000, as well as smaller stages that can hold an audience of some hundreds.
The 2019 lineup is stellar and features top notch artists such as 80s cult favorite, The Cure who are on the verge of celebrating their 40th anniversary together, Swedish sensation Robyn, who recently released her latest album, Honey. Also in the list of acts are Tame Impala, an Australian band that started as a solo project for Kevin Parker in 2007 quickly has become one of the biggest names in Alternative rock as well as German electronic music pioneer Modeselektor and Japanese-American indie rock icon Mitski.
Flow Festival will take place in Helsinki, Finland on the weekend of August 9th through the 11th. Three day passes. travel packages and God Star tickets are available to purchase via Ticketmaster. Day tickets and other types of passes will become available to purchase sometime in 2019 as the event date gets closer.
