In Flames Releases New Songs “(This Is Our)” House” and “I Am Above” and Announces New Album I, The Mask Out March 2019

The Swedish heavy metal band In Flames has just released two new songs “(This Is Our) House” and “I Am Above” from their upcoming thirteenth studio album. I, The Mask.

According to The PRP, the recording session for the 12-track album was made with the help of Howard Benson from My Chemical Romance and Chris Lord-Alge from Cheap Trick and Linkin Park. The album is set for a March 1st release date in the upcoming year.

Andres Fridén, the band’s frontman, spoke about the record in a bit more detail, saying “This album is really a special one to us. Since our last record, Battles, we’ve established our own annual festival in Sweden and have been touring non-stop worldwide, creating an even stronger bond with our fans. You could say it was a big part of our inspiration for this album.” He then continued on by saying, “It’s been such a long journey that just keeps going and growing; We feel extremely thankful for that, and for the support that makes it possible. We dedicate our 13th album I, The Mask, to our fans who allow us to keep making music and playing it every night. IN JESTERHEADS WE TRUST.”

One of the newly released tracks “(This Is Our) House” came with a release of an official lyric video. The lyric showcases a live band performance with the lyrics jumping out on the screen. The song opens up with a group chant that goes, “This is the fight / The fight for our lives / Scream out loud / This is our house” and closes with those same lyrics.

The second track “I Am Above” was also released accompanied by an official video, but this one was an official music video. The video features Swedish actor Martin Wallström from the television show Mr. Robot lip-syncing lyrics with a close-up shot on his face the entire time. Throughout the video, Wallström’s face is distorted through a series of edits on his face.

Pre-orders for the album are set to be released on January 11th.
