Amanda Palmer is getting back into the swing of things. She has just announced that her highly anticipated new album, There Will Be No Intermission is releasing March 8, 2019, her first solo record in six years. The album sees Palmer collaborating with fellow producer John Congleton, who produced Palmer’s last album Theatre of Evil, as well as some other heavy hitters including Lana Del-Rey, The War On Drugs, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and St. Vincent. To keep fans tied over for the next few months, she has also released a new song from the album titled “Drowning Sound.” The song discusses multiple topics including Hurricane Harvey, the solar eclipse, the internet, and Taylor Swift. The song is also noted as one of the more elaborate productions on the album with some elements of Prince and Ani DiFranco. Check out the track below. In support of the new song and album, the singer will be kicking off a year-long world tour beginning at the SXSW Festival March 13-14 in Austin, TX. It will then make its way across the U.S. including Toronto, Chicago, New York, Nashville, and Denver before concluding June 8 in Portland, OR. See Palmer’s full itinerary below.
