Robyn Shares Video For “Honey” Directed by Max Vitali

Swedish pop artist Robyn has released a new music video for her song “Honey.” The video, directed by Max Vitali, takes viewers on an uplifting journey through the title track to Robyn’s most recent album, Honey. Honey was the singer’s first project in years, and one the most powerful performances she has ever given. The album was released in November 2018 and proved to both fans and critics that she is just as talented as ever, despite having an 8 year gap between Honey and her last album. Some of the highlights of the project include songs like the dreamy dance track “Missing U.” Another powerful song from the album is the uplifting “Because It’s In The Music,” which features a strong bass line and glittery synthetics in the background. Overall the quality of Honey more than made up for Robyn’s lack of music for 8 years and left fans wanting more. She’s given them just that with her new music video.

The music video for “Honey” is just as dreamy and enticing as the song itself. Director Max Vitali, who has previously worked with Robyn on music videos, worked closely with the singer on the artistic direction of the video. One of the most important aspects to both of them was the embodiment of the inclusion and freedom in the music video. The largest way they went about this was by having an open casting call for performers in the video. The main visual for the video is a room of seemingly random people dancing alongside Robyn herself to the calming yet curiously still energetic dance track. These people were chosen from fans of Robyn who posted videos of themselves dancing online after the singer posted an opportunity for open auditions through Twitter. The video was filmed in London and drew fans from the UK, Sweden, the USA and other countries. By using fans in her video, Robyn was able to really capture the artistic vision she was looking for in this video and had just as much fun filming it as fans will have watching it.

The singer is also embarking on a tour in 2019 in support of the album Honey, with her first shows in North America beginning at the end of February at the Red Bull Music Festival in Los Angeles. The North American leg of her tour will start at the festival continue from there, spanning late February through the middle of March in both the United States and Canada. She will also be doing set of shows in Sweden before going to North America, and then will continue her European tour throughout the month of April. Later in the year Robyn will also be performing at a number of European festivals including the Roskilde Festival in Denmark. This tour is going to be Robyn’s first since 2013, making it a must see for both new and old fans of her music.
