Flaming Lips fans rejoice for frontman Wayne Coyne has dropped some hot information about their new upcoming album King’s Mouth. According to a recent instagram post by the Coyne, the album is expected to be released in April 2019 on Record Store Day. Following an electrifying performance at Octfest2018, the Flaming Lips have been riding wave of commercial buzz, the aforementioned news now serving as icing on the cake. According to an article from Picthfork, the album name King’s Mouth comes from a 2015 art installation that shared the same name. Coyne also shared that none other than Mick Jones, from The Clash and Big Audio Dynamite, will be responsible for the narration on nearly every song. That followed by a slew of festive emojis.

Following this announcement, it was also revealed that the Flaming Lips will be performing at the second annual Hi, How Are You Day at ACL Live in Austin, Texas. The purpose of the event is to promote mental health awareness and serves as a fund raiser to the cause. The event also serves another purpose, that is to promote Daniel Johnston’s, a Texas songwriter’s, music. According to band leader Wayne Coyne, Flaming Lips will be playing the show because they, “love Daniel’s music, and being part of a thing that celebrates his music with a bunch of other artists is always fun.”
