Eric Pulido of Midlake Announces New Album as E.B. The Younger, To Each His Own for March 2019 Release and Shares New Video for “Used To Be” Starring Jason Lee

Midlake’s very own Eric Pulido has announced a new solo album titled To Each His Own set to be released March 8th, 2019 via Bella Union. Pulido’s debut solo album will also be released under a new moniker named E.B. The Younger. Along with the album announcement, E.B. The Younger has also released a new track along with its nostalgic video “Used to Be” starring My Name is Earl actor Jason Lee.

In a press release, Pulido released a statement regarding the new song and video, stating “The tune ‘Used To Be’ is an acquiescence towards an imminent coming-of-age and the subsequent peace found in its acceptance. In short, this is 40 and I’m OK with it.” He later states “I’m so thankful we pulled this off and I hope it brings as much of a smile to everyone’s face that watches as creating it did mine.” In the same press release, Pulido also describes the new upcoming album more in detail, stating it is an “an eleven-song journey through the life and times of a wayward Midlaker seeking to find purpose in an uncharted land. Will he find his way? Listen, and ye shall find.” Pulido also mentions that the new record “hears traces of The Eagles, Cat Stevens, Joni Mitchell, Wings and CS&N” as well as an “eighties vibe” to “Used to Be.”

The album features Pulido on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, along with Midlakers  Joey McClellan (electric guitar), McKenzie Smith (drums) and Jesse Chandler (flute), who dovetail with Scott Lee (bass), Daniel Creamer (keyboards) and Beau Bedford (keyboards) from local country-funksters The Texas Gentlemen. Prior to its release, E.B. The Younger will be hitting the road in support of the album in the UK along with fellow labelmate John Grant. The tour will kick off January 30th at the O2 Academy in Leeds and will continue to make its way to Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, and London, before concluding in Dublin.
