St. Vincent Premieres Live Cover of Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day”

St. Vincent flexed her way through a memorable set on the Outdoor Stage.

St. Vincent covered Lou Reed‘s “Perfect Day” at her recent show at the Brooklyn Academy for Music, according to Pitchfork. She is currently playing shows backing her new album MassEducation, a stripped-down reimagining of her 2017 album MASSEDUCTION.

“Perfect Day” originally appeared on Reed’s 1972 album Transformer. This was the second solo album released from the Velvet Underground member.

According to Stereogum, St. Vincent recorded the album with Doveman’s Thomas Bartlett on piano, who is accompanying her on her current intmate tour. In addition to her MassEducation tracks, St. Vincent performed some of her other songs, including “Cheerleader” from her 2011 album Strange Mercy, and “Prince Johnny” from her 2014 self titled album.
