Melvins are kicking 2019 off on the west coast. The band has announced a string of 2019 tour dates, slated to being with two back to back nights at The Casbah in San Diego, CA January 9th ad 10th. The tour will continue to make its way to Phoenix, Las Vegas, Santa Barabara, and Santa Cruz, before concluding January 21st at Cornerstone Berkeley in Berkeley, CA. Tickets are on sale now. The group recently covered a couple of classics from some of the greats, including Pink Floyd’s “In The Flesh” as part of the Pink Floyd tribute album, and Black Sabbath’s “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath” alongside Sleep member Alvin Cisneros. In light of that, Cisneros and Melvins also recently announced collaborative EP titled Sabbath, with only one of the test pressings being auctioned off on eBay. No word on how much the album was sold for.
Earlier this year, Melvins released their album Pinkus Abortion Technician, the band’s first album to feature two bassists. They also were recently joined by the classic band Cheap Trick to perform cover of their iconic hit “Surrender” at a show in Kansas City, MO.
