Northside Festival Denmark Announces 2019 Lineup Featuring Bon Iver, The Streets and Major Lazer

Major Lazer on Day 2 of HARD Summer Music Festival 2016

NorthSide is Denmark’s multi-genre music festival held in Ådalen, a few minutes scenic walk from the center of Aarhus. The 2019 line-up has just been announced which will see the likes of Bon Iver, The Streets and Major Lazer as headliners.

Whilst NorthSide continues their preparations Major Lazer are finishing their current 2018 tour promoting the October 19 album release Major Lazer Essentials. Back in February this year Milwaukee saw Justin Vernon AKA Bon Iver perform special concert for his 10th anniversary of the release For Emma, Forever Ago. Birmingham’s Alt Hip-hop group The Streets are also going out on part two of their The darker the shadow the brighter the light tour early next year. The festival successfully manages to pull in both emerging and big-name acts, this year’s line-up included Bjork, Tyler the Creator and Queens of the Stone Age.

The festival is renowned for setting new records for itself, 2017 saw audience numbers grow to forty thousand and an early sell out despite the increase. Its fast-growing popularity saw it make Grazia’s List of top10 European festivals.

Perhaps what sets NorthSide apart from other mid-sized European festivals is their dedication to sustainability and eco-friendly initiatives. They are a 100% organic festival and were awarded the A Greener Festival award back in 2016. Their core values which are shared proudly on the website state “We want to create the most innovative and sustainable music event”. Since it commenced back in 2010 they have continued to expand on concepts to keep the event fresh and innovative, for instance having different stalls each year and no camping site. This helps maintain the unique festival site, a clearing along the Brabrandstien river path.

Tickets are now on sale for  Northside 6-8 June 2019
