Lacuna Coil Announces Details of New Album To Be Released Next Year

Despite having their hands full with the recent release of their live concert DVD, The 119 Show – Live in London, and their first book, Nothing Stands in Our Way, Lacuna Coil has announced they are planning on releasing new music in 2019. According to Loudwire, the band has already started working on the new untitled album.

According to the band’s co-vocalist Cristina Scabbia, the band has begun work on the album but that they are just beginning the recording process. “We are starting to work on a new record, even though, I have to say, there are no songs ready at all.” Scabbia said, “Because our head right now is in tour mode, and to work on the book and the DVD, it required so much time that we honestly didn’t focus properly on the songwriting. So as soon as we’ll be back home after the Euro tour that we are approaching, we will focus on the songwriting, and then the thing will be real, but so far, we didn’t have a lot of time and, most of all, the right mindset to compose new music.

Even though the band does not have much music prepared they hope that they can have a record ready for next year. It’s not surprising that Lacuna Coil’s was focused on other things. In January the band celebrated their 20th anniversary with a concert at the O2 in London. The show was recorded and is what became The 119 Show – Live in London DVD that was released on November 9.

The band is also topping off November with the release of their first book on the 28th. The book chronicles the band’s 20-year history through their formation, rise to fame and the rest of their career. The book will also include rare candid photos of the band and is available in two editions, classic and signature.

Even though the band has announced the new album it looks like fans will have to be patient for new music. However, with a new concert album and their new book of the band’s history Lacuna Coil devotees will have something to hold them over.
