Oxford band Foals has confirmed they are still working on a new album that is scheduled for release sometime in 2019. According to Consequence of Sound, news of the currently untitled album was revealed after a report was published outlining Foals new publishing deal.
News of the album came after Music Weekly detailed the new world agreement between Transgressive Publishing and Warner/Chappell Music. Foals’ previous albums have all been released through Transgressive, but the new deal Warner/Chappell Music includes the band’s “catalogue and their future releases, including their fifth album which is due out next year.”
This is not the first time that the band confirmed they were working on a new album. News of the fifth album came in January after the band announced that bassist and founding member Walter Gervers was leaving the band. In a Facebook post, the band thanks Gervers saying, “The parting has been sad, but we remain firm friends, he’ll always be our brother, we love him and wish him well in his future endeavors.”
Along with the news of Gervers’ departure, the band assured fans they were going to continue working on their next album. “We’re making new music and working on the 5th LP. It’s going to be the best yet. Keep those ears alive.”
As of now, the band has been quiet on what to expect out of the new record, but the band is still performing. The band was recently announced for the Rock am Roll and Rock im Park music festivals in Germany. However, for fans who can’t make it to Germany they can rest assured knowing that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that 2019 is just around the corner.
