Gory, gruesome and highly entertaining, the new video for “Patronizer” from Iron Reagan is not to be missed. The band is featured in a bar, where the band gets into an all-out brawl. Band members shove a pool ball down a guy’s throat, rip out an eyeball, body slam and put multiple staples into a forehead. In essence, they are basically destroying their opponents, one by one.
The new music video “Patronizier” is off of their latest EP, Dark Days Ahead which is in stores now. Frontman Tony Foresta commented, “We are stoked to finally be able to release a video that combined two of our favorite things..bar fights and pro wrestling!”
Dark Days Ahead shares its name with the track released by the band back in April of 2017, which served as part of the Our First 100 Days music series. This series hosted a song release each day by a variety of metal and punk groups for the first 100 days of Donald Trump’s presidency. Donations from the project went toward causes in support of the environment, reproductive rights, immigration and the LGBTQ+ community.
This song, which serves as a critique of the Trump presidency and campaign will also be included as part of the upcoming EP. In 2017, Foresta who is also the lead vocalist of Virginia thrash band Municipal Waste, attracted controversy for having band t-shirts which featured Trump shooting his brains out on the front, with the caption ”The Only Walls We Build Are Walls of Death,” on the back.
“I’ve been reading some of the comments from people that are “shocked” that we would say something bad about Trump. We talked about killing George Bush on our first freaking album!” Foresta stated in an interview with Noisey regarding the controversy. “People need to read the lyrics of the bands they listen to before they get butthurt about the things they have to say.”
Iron Reagan recently released “The Devastation” another song from Dark Days Ahead which dropped October 12, via Pop Wig Records owned by Trapped Under Ice. Possessed of the band’s lethal affinity for dirty crossover-thrash/hardcore tracks, the five new songs are among the most riff-tastic in the band’s already burgeoning discography.
On October 26, they performed with Slipknot at the first-ever Knotfest at the Hipódromo de Los Andes in Bogota, Columbia. Headlining this year’s event, was legendary Judas Priest with additional performances by Iron Reagan, Revocation, Helloween, Kreator and more.
