With four albums already released for 2018, American musician Ty Segall has revealed his fifth album of the year. The Laguna Beach rocker’s new album, Orange Rainbow, was announced during the opening of his Los Angeles art show of the same name.

An article from Pitchfork states that the album was released as a limited-run during Segall’s art show, Orange Rainbow. On the night of release only 55 copies were made available for sale. A tracklist has for the record has already been released on Discog, and has been confirmed by his representatives.

This is the latest for the artist who has released a plethora of music in his short career. Since 2008 Segall has released ten solo albums, and more with other musicians. In 2018 alone Segal has released a total of three solo albums and two collaborative albums.

The first of his 2018 solo albums is titled Freedom Goblin, which he released in January through his label, Drag City. This was the tenth studio album for Segall and was recorded with the Freedom Band, who he formed to back him on his ninth album, Ty Segall.

To follow this album, Segall teamed up with his fellow Drag City musician, Tim Presley. Presley, a regular on the punk rock scene, is known for creating and performing under the name White Fence. Together the two released their collaborative album, Joy.

In August, Segall announced that his band GØGGS would be releasing their new album, Pre Strike Sweep in September. GØGGS is one of many bands that Segall performs with, including Fuzz, the CIA and more.

Segall’s fourth album continued his solo work but announced that his new album, Fudge Sandwich, would feature covers. The 11-track album featured classic songs, such as “I’m a Man” by the Spencer Davis Group. Fudge Sandwich is currently scheduled for an Oct. 26 release.

With five albums already under his belt for the year, Segall is proving to be one of the hardest working performers in music. With a couple months left in 2018 fans shouldn’t be surprised if he still has some surprises in the coming months.
