Do you love festivals? How about beautiful Mexican resorts on the Caribbean coastline? Now, what if it was possible to enjoy both in one weekend full of music, yoga and some of the best artists in the industry?
Now festival fans can have it all at the newly announced festival, SUNDARA, arranged by ODESZA members Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight. Taking place in March 2019 at the Barceló Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico, the event is being billed as an “all-inclusive destination festival.”
A press release for the festival says that SUNDARA has been a goal for Mills and Knight stating, “Ever since we started ODESZA and Foreign Family Collective we’ve dreamed of creating our ideal festival; one with immersive experiences, our favorite artists, and an incredible location.”
The press release also announced that each performer on the bill will perform multiple sets, with ODESZA performing a total of three.
The first will be an extended set with exclusive tracks and fan edits, with the second one arranged as a NO.SLEEP DJ set. Finally, the last one will be an ambient set that will be performed alongside a live yoga class hosted by famed yoga instructor, Gina Caputo.
Besides the musical acts, the festival will include other activities. Attendees can take part in snorkeling, daytime parties, shop at the exclusive ODESZA pop-up shop, mini-golf or try out a craft beer and tequila tasting. Fans can also leave the event and explore nearby ruins.
Besides ODESZA, the lineup will include other festival staples RL Grimes, Alison Wonderland, RÜFÜS DU SOL, who all performed with Mills and Knight at the 2016 SnowGlobe Festival in Lake Tahoe, California.
Aside from this already star-studded lineup, fans can look forward to new music as many of the headliners have released new albums in 2018. The Los Angeles-based artist RL Grime, formerly known as Clockwork, released his second solo album Nova, through his record label WeDidIt in July.
RÜFÜS DU SOL is releasing their third solo album Solace on Oct.19 and will begin a North American tour on Oct. 24. Australian artist Alison Wonderland will also be touring with new music after the release of her second album Awake, which dropped in April 2018.
Odesza is also touring with new music. The duo released a new album, A Moment Apart, in 2017 and an album of remixes titled, Across The Room Remixes, in 2018.
With fresh music, a packed lineup with unique performances and a plethora of activities SANDARA looks to be an amazing opportunity for fans. The festival will take place from March 13 to March 16. Tickets go on sale on Oct. 23, at 1 p.m. est. and can be purchased at Sandarafestival.com.
