Le Butcherettes, the Mexican garage punk band, shared the music video to their brand new single, “Strong/Enough,” which appears on the band’s upcoming fourth new album. According to Rolling Stone, the album is slated for a 2019 release and will be produced by Talking Heads keyboardist Jerry Harrison.
The song, which, no doubt will become an anthem for women everywhere dealing with toxic relationship, showcases not only the powerful vocals of frontwoman Teri Gender Bender (née Teresa Suárez) but also diving into the strength that a woman has in dealing with the many struggles that one has in a relationship. “I’ve put myself in a spot where I’m easily hurt, and sometimes enough is enough,” In a statement in regards to the song title, Suárez comments, “If there is no healthy you, then there cannot be healthy love with other people in relationships.”
The video for “Strong/Enough”, which is directed by Gus Black, shows Suárez walking around her house and on the streets of LA dressed in a heart-shaped outfit. She belts out, “My heart is headed out the door/Don’t need your abuse no more/Won’t take your disrespect.” Here, her strength is visible even when she is vulnerable crawling on the floor. It is proof, she is not giving up.
The band is heading out on their Fall tour beginning October 18th. The upcoming tour will see Le Butcherettes performing in cities such as San Diego, Los Angeles, Nashville, Chicago, Brooklyn, and Boston just to name a few. The fall dates will wrap up on December 8th in Puebla, Mexico. For a full list of dates, check out the itinerary below.
