WATCH Members of GWAR, Korn, Deftones and More Pay Tribute to Vinnie Paul During Special 2018 Aftershock Festival Set

The ultimate tribute happened this past weekend at Sacramento’s‘ Monster Energy Aftershock Festival. Many musicians got together to perform a tribute to the great Vinnie Paul, member of bands HELLYEAH and Pantera. Bandmate Kyle Sanders joined in for the performance, while a set owned by Paul was used during the performance. According to The PRP, some of the artists that were a part of the tribute included Korn‘s Jonathan DavisGodsmack‘s Sully Erna & Tony Rombola, Deftones‘ Stephen Carpenter, and Act Of Defiance‘s Chris Broderick. Other artists that joined were Sevendust‘s Clint Lowery & John Connolly, Shinedown‘s Zach Meyers, and GWAR‘s Blothar & Pustulus Maximus,Kyng‘s Pepe Clarke & Eddie Veliz, and
Hyro The Hero.

Earlier this year, Vinnie Paul sadly passed away in his sleep in his Las Vegas home. He was later buried next to his brother, guitarist Dimbag Darrell in Kiss casket in his hometown of Arlington, Texas. Paul was 54 years old. It was recently revealed with the coroner’s office recently revealed that his cause of death was due to a condition known as dilated cardiomyopathy, which is essentially an enlarged heart, as well as severe coronary artery disease.
