English singer-songwriter and new wave legend Gary Numan has announced that he will be releasing two upcoming projects this fall, on November 9th. His first project is a new EP entitled The Fallen, which will consist of three brand new tracks, while his other project is a live album entitled Savage, Live At Brixton Academy.
The Fallen EP will host the tracks “It Will End Here,” “The Promise” and “If We Had Known,” adding to the singer’s extensive catalog. It will be available as a special edition tricolour 12” vinyl. a CD and digitally via his website, upon its original release date.
Artwork for The Fallen EP is reminiscent of the art work for Numan’s last album Savage (Songs From a Broken World). Both album covers feature a heavy clothed figure cloaked entirely by their clothing in what appears to be a desert setting.
Numan has been a synth pop legend since the late 70’s with a variety of hits including the track “Cars,” and “Are Friends ‘Electric.'” Both singled topped the charts upon release, however Numan remained popular in his later career as an artist due to his strong cult following.
Savage (Songs From A Broken World) was released in 2017, blending the artist’s roots in industrial dance music and his synth-pop beginnings. The concept album garnered some critical success and even landed on the Billboard Top 200.
“All of the songs come from a novel that I’ve been trying to write for quite a long time so the album is basically a musical reflection of the book,” Numan explained regarding the album.
Numan will be wrapping up his fall Ghost Nation tour dates this Saturday, with a show at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles. California. On this tour Numan explained how his popularity has changed throughout the years.
“In Britain, at one point I would be lucky if I was doing 2,000 people in London and now I’ll be selling out Royal Albert Hall in four hours,” Numan stated regarding his most recent tour. “I’d like to be doing much better everywhere; I’d like to be doing better in Britain, to be honest. The Royal Albert Hall is great, but I would rather be doing O2 Arena because it’s much bigger. It’s not that the ambition isn’t there, I just get a pleasure from doing it regardless.”
Numan is currently planning on going on another brief tour this upcoming November, across various different performances in the UK. This brief tour will begin in Cardiff, at St. Davids Hall and will end at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
