The Frights @ Rough Trade 10/8

The Frights have announced a second show at Rough Trade as part of their extensive fall North American tour, dubbed the Hypochondriac Tour. The Rough Trade date now has two shows, an early show and a late show. The announcement comes after a venue and date change from Brooklyn Steel on October 7 to Rough Trade on October 8. The band announced that all tickets from the Brooklyn Steel show will be honored at the late show at Rough Trade, with the special early show being added due to high demand. The tour kicked off on August 24 in San Diego and culminates on October 18 in Phoenix with a stop at Chicago’s Riot Fest along the way. The band will go on a small UK and European tour in November, hitting cities like London, Amsterdam, and Paris. Supporting The Frights on tour are Hunny and Hot Flash Heat Wave.

The Hypochondriac Tour arrives in support of The Frights’s newest album, Hypochondriac, which dropped in August. Hypochondriac is the band’s third album, following their 2016 sophomore LP, You Are Going to Hate This, and their 2013 eponymous debut LP. The punk rock four piece hails from San Diego, forming as a post-high school joke until they realized how much they enjoyed performing and writing music together. They dropped two EPs in their first year as a band via a local label, Postmark Records. They went on to sign with punk imprint Epitaph after a brief stint with Dangerbird Records, with FIDLAR’s Zac Carper producing both their second and third albums. The Frights have made a solid name for themselves over the past six years, touring throughout North America and Europe and playing festivals like Shaky Knees and Lollapalooza. Their punk rock sound is raw and refreshing, paying homage to classic punk rock while adding their own spin, producing music that is all at once catchy, angsty, and playful.

See The Frights play Rough Trade for a special two-show day with support from Hunny and Hot Flash Heat Wave.
