A new album from St. Vincent has been announced and is now available for pre-order. The album MassEducation is set to release October 12 and will include a stripped down version of “Slow Disco” titled “Slow Slow Disco” and her most recent release “Savior.” This album is meant to serve as another dimension of St. Vincent’s previous album MASSEDUCTION, which was recorded in August 2017 and released in October of the same year. The album was performed entirely by Annie Clark on vocals and Thomas Bartlett on piano. In a press release, the new album was described to render songs and their subjects in vivid, vulnerable new light. Clark herself described the album as “Two dear friends playing songs together with the kind of secret understanding one can only get through endless nights in New York City.” This album comes almost a year after its predecessor, MASSEDUCTION, which released October of 2018. It will be St. Vincent’s sixth album. A track list for the album can be seen below.

MassEducation is set to be a stripped down version of St. Vincent’s previous album of a somewhat similar title MASSEDUCTION, which was recorded live in the studio over two nights at Electric Lady Mixing Studios in Manhattan. The newest albums will include works from the old such as “Young Lover” and “Fear The Future.” When originally recording the album, Annie Clark and Thomas Bartlett went into the studio without ever rehearsing the sing. Instead, they went through each song two or three times and selected the one that sounded the best to them. They stated this made the whole experience feel “intuitive, discovered and raw.”
