Alt-country all-star Margo Price has announced a New Year’s Eve show at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg. Joining Price will be singer-songwriter Lilly Hiatt, a friend and fellow Nashville dweller. The night is promised to close out 2018 and ring in 2019 with grand celebration, marking the events with a soundtrack provided by two of country’s best and brightest stars. The announcement comes as Price gears up for her Australian tour which kicks off next week on October 10. She has a few engagements throughout the US to finish out 2018 in places like Los Angeles, Dallas, and Memphis before culminating with her Brooklyn New Year’s Eve show. Price will ring in 2019 tropically as she is slated to perform at the Outlaw Country Cruise at the end of January with Drive-By Truckers, Lucinda Williams, and more, Brandi Carlile’s Girl Just Wanna Weekend taking place in Mexico with artists including Brandi Carlile and Patty Griffin, and at KAABOO Cayman in February on the Cayman Islands alongside Blondie and Duran Duran.
Price released her latest album, All American Made, in 2017 which peaked at number 12 on the US country charts and number 6 on the US indie charts. The album marks Price’s second full length album and boasts a featured track with Willie Nelson. Price’s first album, Midwest Farmer’s Daughter, was released via Jack White’s Third Man Records as the label’s first country artist and record. As a noted staple in the East Nashville music scene, it seems like a match made in heaven that Price should sign with Third Man Records. The album, released in 2016, was met with high praise from critics and glorified in major publications from Rolling Stone to the New York Times to Fader. Price’s voice holds a blend of nostalgia for classic Americana and country artists while adding her own twist through her band’s incorporation of R&B, funk, and soul. Price is a star who remains on the rise, for both the country listeners and music lovers alike.
