Sinsaenum Shares Previously Unreleased Cover of Melvins’ “Hooch”

Heavy metal super group, Sinsaenum recently released a cover of Melvin’s “Hooch”. “Hooch” was originally released by The Melvins in 1993 as a single off the album Houdini. The Melvins formed in the early 1980s in Washington and are credited with influencing the development of grunge music in the 1990s. Houdini featured Kurt Cobain as co-producer.

Sinsaenum is a collaboration of Frederic Leclercq of Dragonforce and Joey Jordison, formerly of Slipknot and currently of Vimic. They released their first self-titled album in 2016. Their most recent album, Repulsion for Humanity was reviewed by MXDWN’s CJ Brown as “a gold standard of blackened death metal.” The album came out this August and according to The PRP, the band is currently touring Europe and the UK.

Sinsaenum’s cover of “Hooch” takes the song to a darker place than the original heavy metal version by incorporating signature death metal vocals. The video, featured below is a gory, grainy, black and white visual that showcases the band’s dark version of the song.
