Doom Side of the Moon Announces Winter 2018 Tour Dates

Doom Side of the Moon, the Pink Floyd tribute band from Austin, is embarking on a U.S. tour this Winter. The all-star lineup that makes up the tribute band features three-quarters of the Sword including guitarist and founder of the project Kyle Shutt as well as members of Brownout/Brown Sabbath, Hard Proof. Members of the band, Shutt, Bryan Richie, Santiago “Jimmy” Vela III, Alex Marrero, Jason Frey, and Joe Cornetti made their live debut in August of 2017. The performance was sold out and was held at the Austin’s Emo’s venue. The upcoming tour, though, is slated to be the band’s first national one which includes December dates that will bring the lineup to Dallas, Denver, and Brooklyn. Check out the full itinerary below.

“Taking Doom Side of the Moon on the road, and to the sky for that matter for these fly-in dates, is certainly the biggest project I’ve ever attempted, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous,” Shutt states. “I can only imagine what Pink Floyd felt like taking a show like ‘The Wall’ on the road. Those guys had such astounding ambition, I hope I do them justice by putting on the best tribute I can to their timeless catalog.”

Kyle Shutt is the guitarist for the heavy metal band The Sword which was formed back in 2003. It features vocalist/guitarist John “J.D.” Cronise, bassist Bryan Richie, and drummer Santiago “Jimmy” Vela III. Their debut album, Age of Winters was released in 2006 and has continued to release a series of celebrated records since then including  Gods of the Earth (2008), Warp Riders (2010) Apocryphon (2012) and High Country (2015). Their latest album, Used Future was released earlier this year on March 23rd, 2018.
