Anderson .Paak and Kendrick Lamar have posted a “staged,” photograph of them sharing a row of displaced airplane seats with the caption October 4th. According to Hot New Hip Hop, this date will host the release of a collaborative project between the two, though the type of project remains unknown.
Earlier this year .Paak posted a picture on social media announcing that he had finished his upcoming studio album Oxnard. The picture featured the artist in the studio with legendary hip hop producer Dr. Dre.
Prior to the release of his break-out album Malibu, .Paak was heavily featured on Dre’s 2015 album Compton, which coincided with the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton. After the release of Malibu, the artist announced that he signed to Dre’s label Aftermath Entertainment, which will release Oxnard.
In addition to his work with .Paak, Dre has served as a mentor to fellow Compton native Kendrick Lamar, who is also signed to Aftermath Entertainment. Dre served as an executive producer for every solo album release made by Lamar since 2012’s Good Kid/M.A.A.D City.
