Norah Jones and Jeff Tweedy from Wilco, perform a dreamy, melodic tune titled, “A Song With No Name” with Jones on vocals, acoustic guitar and piano, with Tweedy on acoustic and electric guitar. This song is the third in a series of singles that Jones has released over recent months.

Jones sultry voice enchants you with lyrics like, “Do I love you too much? Do I hold you too tight? Have you had any love, shake me off in the night. If I had a gun, if I had a knife. If I had your love, if I was your wife.” Tweedy’s smooth acoustic chords, relent slow and steady. The tender ache from her voice, awakens the pain associated with the loss of control one feels while in love. The pendulum of emotions and moodiness, which can easily change from rage to bliss, one can only experience when letting go in love.

Another recent release from Jones is the soulful song, “It Was You” featuring drummer Brian Blade, bassist Christopher Thomas, organist Pete Remm, trumpeter Dave Guy, and tenor saxophonist Leon Michels, plus “My Heart is Full” a collaboration with Thomas Bartlett.

Jones is part of the lineup at Los Angeles Music Center event, JONI 75: A Birthday Celebration Live at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on November 6 and 7, featuring an array of musicians who will honor Joni Mitchell for her 75th birthday. On both nights, Jones, Glen Hansard, Emmylou Harris, Chaka Khan, Diana Krall, Kris Kristofferson, Los Lobos, Graham Nash, Seal, and Rufus Wainwright, will perform songs from all stages of Mitchell’s legendary career.

Jones is currently touring California in a quartet with Blade, Thomas, and Remm performing music from across her own illustrious career, including her most recent album Day Breaks. Jones will be appearing at the Monterey Jazz Festival on September 23 and the Ohana Festival on September 28, as well as  a night at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara on September 25.

Jones is a 9-time GRAMMY winner and released a recent album, Day Breaks, her sixth solo album. The album features jazz luminaries including her Blue Note label mates saxophonist Wayne Shorter, organist Dr. Lonnie Smith, and drummer Brian Blade on a 12-song set that presents 9 new originals alongside covers of songs by Horace Silver, Duke Ellington and Neil Young.

Kelly Tucker: Originally from Los Angeles, I grew up listening to all types of music. My first concert was Aerosmith with Skid Row, then moved on to concerts with Metallica, Lollapalooza, Guns N’ Roses, Soundgarden and more. One of my favorite shows of all time was when I was in college and someone took me to see the Allman Brothers play. I also scalped a ticket to see Pearl Jam and the amazing Eddie Vedder sing his heart out. My professional career started in 2000 at Nielsen Business Media where I was an assistant in a sales department and later got promoted to advertising account executive. When the recession hit in 2008 and the magazine was sold, I took a job at a call center and later got promoted to assistant to the CEO and COO of a global company. In 2017, I took a position at a pharmaceutical agency, and now currently responsible for coordinating meeting logistics for physicians and pharma reps throughout the United States. In my spare time, I work at Peace4Kids a non-profit in South Los Angeles and write screenplays in hopes to make a breakthrough.
