Marissa Nadler Releases Live Video for “I Can’t Listen to Gene Clark Anymore” Featuring Sharon Van Etten

One of the latest singles from Marissa Nadler’s excellent new album For My Crimes is the Sharon Van Etten-featuring song “I Can’t Listen to Gene Clark Anymore.” Today she shares a quasi-performance video of the song, which sees Nadler and Van Etten performing the song together, the former on acoustic guitar and the latter adding vocals.

The song is about the memories a certain song can conjure and in the case of the narrator of this song, it’s Gene Clark. The two incredible singer-songwriters Van Etten and Nadler add their passionate, distinct vocals to the song, making for an excellent alt-folk tune.

Nadler previously released a video for “Blue Vapor” from the new album. Other features on the album include Angel Olsen, Kristin Kontrol and Patty Schemel. All in all, it’s a great album that’s bolstered by the presence of some of alternative music’s best female performers.
