In these past eight years, Swedish singer-songwriter Robyn has been busy working on a string of projects. Since the release of her 2010 hit Body Talk, she has put out a remix record and toured supporting it as well mini albums collaborating with Röyksopp (2014’s “Do It Again”) La Bagatelle Magique (2015’s “Love Is Free”) and Mr. Tophat called (2017’s “Trust Me”).
Though fans wanted something new. Robyn has kept fans on their toes, teasing for months regarding new material. Earlier this year, she responded to a pleading fan who asked via Twitter, “Who decides your album release date” In which the singer responded, “I do. Some time this year honey.” Now it appears that their wish for new music is finally going to come true. The Sweedish singer and songwriter finally announced a date for the record which is called, Honey. Fans mark your calendars. Honey is set to be released into the world October 26th, 2018 via Konichiwa Records / Interscope Records.
According to Robyn, the record is: “this sweet place, like a very soft ecstasy. Something that’s so sensual, and so good. I danced a lot when I was making it. I found a sensuality and a softness that I don’t think I was able to use in the same way before. Everything just became softer.”
Honey is Robyn’s first solo album since her 2010 hit Body Talk. The new record features her previously released single “Missing U” as well as the long-awaited track “Honey,” which was featured as an early version in last year’s HBO’s series Girls. It isn’t the first time Robyn’s music was featured on the show. Back in 2012, during the series first season, Lena Dunham who created and stared on the show featured one of Robyn’s tracks, “Dancing On My Own,” in one of the season’s best episodes. After the episode aired, it ignited interest in the song which appeared on Robyn’s fifth studio own, Body Talk.

In an Instagram video posted by the singer, connecting to the reveal, Robyn begins it by saying, “I’m on the set for my first music video for this album and I just wanted to tell you in person it’s going to be out really soon,” She continued by saying, “It’s a personal album and there’s so many things that have happened throughout making it that it’s really just hard for me to explain it in one go. I think the best way is maybe for you to listen to it but, I’m so happy it’s finally done.”
UPDATE (9/25): According to Pitchfork, Robyn has revealed the tracklist for her upcoming new album, Honey via a Twitter post. In the tweet which includes a little clip of the tracklist coming together visually, she expressed that she had the tracklist “ready for months.” She continued by saying “so strange how it came together even before or the songs were finished. Never had that happen before; more or less in the order that I wrote them.” Scroll down for the official tracklist for Honey as well as the twitter post.
