Maryland Deathfest Announces 2019 Lineup Including Borknagar, Primitive Man and Voivod

The Maryland Deathfest has its extended lineup for 2019 with Borknagar, Unleashed, Voivod and Benediction, among many others, scheduled to play during the four-day event. The festival will take place Memorial Day Weekend, May 23rd-26th in Baltimore, MD at the Rams Head Live and Baltimore Soundstage. The other artists in the second round of announcements are Revenge, Anaal Nathrakh, Accused A.D., Primitive Man, True Black Dawn, Spectral Voice, Merrimack, Churchburn, Délétère,Hummingbird Of Death, Majestic Downfall, Neckbeard Deathcamp, Ordeals, Inhumation, Theories, Endorphins Lost and Asylum. 2019 is the festival’s 17th year running, having showcased over 500 bands from 25 different countries. Last year’s festival featured Broken Hope, Chthe’ilist, Destroyed in Seconds, Dead Infection, Durian, Enemy Soil, Evoken, Eyehategod, God Dethroned and many more. MDF is the brainchild of two extreme metal fans named Ryan and Evan. The festival is often promoted as “America’s biggest metal party of the year.” The event has also expanded to California and The Netherlands, which started in 2016.

This past year, guitarist Jens F. Ryland parted ways with Borknagar, who have currently completed writing duties on their new album. Unleashed will release their 13th full-length album, The Hunt For White Christ, on October 26 via Napalm Records, Voivod’s new album The Wake comes out September 21 via Century Media, and they’ve just released a new song from it called “Always Moving.” Anaal Nathrakh have the upcoming album A New Kind Of Horror out on September 28, as well as the new track and video for “Obscene As Cancer.”

UPDATE (7/10): Maryland Deathfest has announced several new additions to its 2019 lineup. These artists include Suffocation, Sacramentum performing Far Away From The Sun, Schirenc Plays Pungent Stench, Archgoat, Haemorrhage, Valkyrja, ACxDC, Panzerfaust and Asthma Castle.
