The Cranberries Singer Dolores O’Riordan’s Cause of Death is Revealed

Dolores O’Riordan’s death was revealed today as drowning, reports Pitchfork. The article states, that according to the coroner’s report, O’Riordan drowned in her hotel bathtub after consuming a large amount of alcohol. Several empty alcohol bottles were found in the room along with prescription medication. However, toxicology reports indicated that while her blood alcohol level was four times the legal driving limit, only “therapeutic” amounts of medication was found in her bloodstream.

The coroner’s report also stated there was no evidence of self-harm or injury, putting to rest earlier rumors that O’Riordan’s death was the result of a self-inflicted injury.

The 46 year old vocalist for the Irish alternative band, the Cranberries died back in January in London hotel room. As reported earlier, the band had been working on a new album and a reissue of their album Everybody’s Doing It So Why Can’t We, prior to O’Riordan’s death. The remaining band members still plan to go through with the reissue and the new album. The new album will include vocals recorded by O’Riordan before her tragic death.

O’Riordan has three children with ex-husband Don Burton, former manager of Duran Duran. The pair seperated in 2014 after 20 years of marriage.
