Anticipating Kendrick Lamar fans are still left wondering when they will be able to listen to the rapper’s new music. Hopes may have been high very recently, with Isaiah Rashad, a member of Lamar’s record Label Top Dawg Entertainment stating that he has heard evidence of an album’s worth of new music done by Lamar.

From humble beginnings, the Compton born and raised hip-hop star has risen to global fame in the past eight years. A true example of someone that knows the power of patience, Lamar’s music career actually began in 2004 after the release of his first mixtape. With the years it took for Lamar to achieve the widespread recognition he may now fully embrace, it may be a disappointment for avid fans that have already been waiting to hear what he has been working on in the studio as of late learn that they won’t be hearing it anytime soon.

Despite Rashad’s statements about what he has heard, the label head at Top Dawg Entertainment, Anthony Top Dawg Tiffith, has neither proven nor denied the rumor. According to Fader, Anthony Top Dawg Tiffith announced via Twitter that the label would be releasing a minimum of two more projects this year. Tiffith gave hints to a possible four project releases in 2018, but audiences will remain waiting for answers until more evidence or information is given from the label. Perhaps one of these projects will be the next of Kendrick Lamar.

Lamar’s DAMN album was extremely well received from general audiences and critics alike. In 2018, the album won the Pulitzer Prize, adding to his collection of other prestigious awards which includes 12 Grammys. Not long after the release of DAMN, Lamar stated on Instagram Live that he would be releasing more music, but more recently backtracked that statement, claiming that his future projects will be announced later.

In the meantime, fans can enjoy Kendrick’s live performances at the upcoming music festivals Grandoozy and Music Midtown. Lamar will be performing in Denver’s Grandoozy festival on Friday, September 14, and will follow up in Atlanta’s Music Midtown on Sunday, September 16.
