LVL UP @ Baby’s All Right 9/27

In June, LVL UP announced their farewell tour scheduled for this fall. The tour runs from August 11 until September 28, concluding with a final show at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom. The band then added another New York City date to the sold out Bowery Ballroom show, performing at Baby’s All Right on September 27. Now, due to high demand for their final shows as a band, LVL UP have added an “early” show to the September 27 gig, starting at 7:15 p.m. The tour features a total of five openers alternating on different dates of the tour. Of their farewell, the band released a statement saying, “We have decided to retire this project. It has been an extremely rewarding journey beyond anything we could have ever realistically imagined.” They went on to express great gratitude for friends, family, and fans for making LVL UP possible.

Since forming in 2011 in a college dorm room, LVL UP produced three LPs during their career and signed with Sub Pop in 2016. The indie rock quartet has been known for their smooth lo-fi sounds, creating an atmospheric vibe that’s unafraid to raise the volume. They released a handful of successful EPs in addition to their debut album, Space Brothers, that garnered the band a strong following. The band’s standout 2014 sophomore album, Hoodwink’d, put the band on the indie rock radar, catching the attention of critics and a wider fanbase. Although their split comes as sad news, the band made it clear it isn’t the end of the road for them. In their statement, they added, “Everyone in the band will continue to support each other while we release new material through different outlets.” Members Dave Benton and Nick Corbo have project Trace Mountains with a new LP that dropped this year, and fans are eager to see what the rest of the band produces. As part of their farewell, LVL UP also released their final single “Orchard.”

You can still see LVL UP on their farewell tour with their newly added Baby’s All Right early show on September 27 before their final performance on September 28 at Bowery Ballroom. Tickets are on sale now.
