RIP: Conway Savage, Pianist for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds Dead At 58

Pianist of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds Conway Savage has sadly passed away this past Sunday. Savage was 58 years old.  Savage was diagnosed with a brain tumor in late 2017, forcing him to miss the band’s tour in support of their 2016 album Skeleton Tree.”

According to Rolling Stone, a statement was made from the band Sunday evening. “Our beloved Conway passed away on Sunday evening” it continues to say “A member of Bad Seeds for nearly thirty years, Conway was the anarchic thread that ran through the band’s live performances. He was much loved by everyone, band members and fans alike. Irascible, funny, terrifying, sentimental, warm-hearted, gentle, acerbic, honest, genuine – he was all of these things and quite literally ‘had the gift of a golden voice,’ high and sweet and drenched in soul.”

The band recently announced a tour in North and Latin America, slated to begin this fall. It is set to kick off October 2nd in Mexico City and will hit other cities across Latin and North America including Buenos Aires, Santiago, Los Angeles, and Brooklyn before concluding October 28th in Toronto, ON. Cigarettes After Sex are set to join the outing. See the full list of dates below.
