Australian artists the John Butler Trio have premiered the second installment in a 3-part video series for album track “Wade In The Water,” off of the forthcoming album HOME set for release on September 28.
The video is directed by Nick Mckk and produced by longtime collaborator Kester Sappho. Filmed in one continuous shot, the video shows John Butler and his son Jahli skateboarding through the streets of rural Australia. The first video for the lead single “Home” showed the competing elements of life on the road and being away from family, while this latest track encapsulates the feeling of cruising through uninterrupted, open roads without the distractions and limitations of modern life.
“’Wade In The Water’ is one of Butler’s favorite songs off of the album, and representative of a deep, personal journey. “It’s a soul-searching proclamation and a journey back to myself. The words just kinda fell out and I didn’t really know what they meant for a long time until I stood back and took a look at the song and the passage of time I’d just been through. This song celebrates my love for Led Zeppelin, Hip Hop backbeat, Indian classic music and is one of my favorite songs to play live,” said Butler.
In recent months, the John Butler Trio have afforded some lucky fans sneak previews of some new songs, such as at the recent sold-out show at Denver’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Following the album’s release, the band begin touring to promote HOME to audiences in Australia, Japan, Europe and North America.
