Damon Albarn Announces Plans to Release Another Gorillaz Album After The Good The Bad The Queen Reunion

Damon Albarn of the Gorillaz already has plans to release another album with the band. After recently releasing their latest album, The Now Now in June shortly after their 2017 high fidelity rated album Humanz, the band is heading back into the studio to make more music. According to Stereogum, Albarn sat down with the FM4 podcast and revealed that another Gorillaz album is in the works. In the interview, he states “I have another one as well, but I know I’m not gonna be allowed to even think about recording or putting it out this year.” Albarn also hinted at a possible reunion with his supergroup the Good, The Bad & The Queen. The group is formed of the Clash’s Paul Simonon, the Verve’s Simon Tong, and Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen. Albarn states “In October, after I play in America, I’ll be starting the Good, The Bad & The Queen again…it’s there. If I get the time, or if anyone wants it, it’s there.” Listen to the full interview below.

Gorillaz recently performed the entirety of their latest album The Now Now in a visual video and had to end their set at Denmark’s Rokslide Festival early due to their friend and collaborating artist Del the Funky Homosapien fell off the stage. The band will also be heading to the states this fall, kicking off October 8th in Toronto and will make stops in Montreal, Philadelphia, New York, Boston, and Chicago before concluding October 20th in Los Angeles for their curated Demon Dayz Festival. The festival will also include performances from Erykah Badu, The Internet, Little Simz, and DRAM. See the full list of dates below.
