WYNC Studios’ political podcast “More Perfect” has announced a new project, 27: The Most Perfect Album: an album of songs inspired by the 27 amendments to the U.S. Constitution.

This album debuts September 18th. Kevin Morby is featured on the album. His track “24th Amendment” is available to listen to. The song is a slow, acoustic, contemplative song. The most outstanding line in the song is: “When I saw the tax man, I ran/ I don’t pay taxes but I know what the facts is.” The descriptive commentary in the song is about taxes and the money that the government is taking away from local and state programs.

Other prominent artists are featured on the album as well such as Dolly Parton, Devendra Banhart, Cherry Glazerr, Torres, Kash Doll, Caroline Shaw, The Slants and more.

The album drops the same day as the podcast, “More Perfect” launches into its third season. This season the podcast is set to break down and analyze each amendment and apply it to the current political state. The podcast creator and host, Jad Abumrad said in a recent statement, “The mission of this album is to take these sometimes forgotten words and animate them through the power of music.”
